Starting with version 1.1.0, iPWMinder contains a Password Generator.

To create a randomly generated password, open the Edit Record screen (see How to Add a New Record and How to Edit a Record for information on creating and editing Records in iPWMinder.)

Tap on the Password field, and then shake the device, and a random password will be entered into the field.

The parameters for the password can be changed in the iPWMinder settings.  To access the iPWMinder settings, tap on the Settings application.



Tap on iPWMinder and the following screen is displayed:

To change the number of characters that get generated by the password generator, tap on Number of Characters, and select the number of characters you want.

To change the special character to use, tap on Special Character, and the select the special character you want.


Tips for creating a strong password

A strong password should be at least 8 character long, contain a mix of numbers and letters, contain both upper and lower case letters and contain one or more special characters, such as _ or *.  A password should not contain common words, or words personally linked to you, such as birthdates etc.
