At Ewert Technologies, we are pleased to announce the release of a new version of Rail Baron tools for both iOS and Android. Rail Baron Tools is an app that lets you quickly look up the information you need when playing the Rail Baron board game. The main new feature in this release comes from a suggestion from a user. This features introduces an optional scaling factor, that can be applied to all Payoffs, allowing you to play a faster game.
New Payoff Scaling Factor
A scaling factor can now be used when calculating the Payoff from one City to another. The Payoff Scaling Factor can be set in Settings, and has the following options:
- 1.00 (Default)
- 1.10
- 1.25
- 1.33
- 1.50
- 2.00
Each Payoff is then multiplied by the Scaling Factor, for example when going from Chattanooga to Fargo, the normal (un-scaled) Payoff is: $12,500, but if the Payoff Scaling Factor is set o 1.33, the Payoff would be: $16,500. Note: Payoffs are rounded to the nearest $500.
The Payoff Scaling Factor is applied when determining the Payoff, after determining a new Destination, and when using the stand-along Payoff screen.
Other Changes
In addition to the Payoff Scaling Factor, this release contains the following changes:
- Fixed bug for some incorrect Payoff amounts
- Added an optional Dice Rolling Sound (on Android)
- Made Dice Rolling Sound optional (on iOS)
- Other minor updates and fixes
