Mark WilsonThe following site seems to be moved, do you know what the correct site would be?

4. In Eclipse->Window->Preferences->Install/Update->Available Software Sites add the following site: http://www.blackberry.com/go/eclipseUpdate/3.5/java

victor.ewertMark,

What makes you think the site has moved? I just tried it and it seems be there. One thing I did notice, is that the 4.2.1 and 4.3.0 SDK component packs are no longer available, I'm not sure why that is.

For references here is the documentation to set up the update site: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/developers/javaappdev/javaupdate.jsp

TrknFirst of all,
thank you for this reference.

I have a question about BB 4.5.0 Api and 4.5.0.21 Component package.

According to 4.5 api reference guide, setPadding method is depreciated. But in Eclipse, if we install BB plugin and related sdk's such as 4.5 using eclipse update site, setPadding method does not matter even if we use jde 4.5.

I think it is about the component package update site has. for 4.5 it has component package 4.5.0.21.

If we use netbeans and 4.5 api, setpadding matters?

Do you know the exact problem? What would u suggest? Using netbeans and pure 4.5 or using Eclipse?

What is the major trend?

Thanks a lot.

victor.ewertI am not too sure about the setPadding method; from what I have heard it is an undocumented method, but may be possible to use. You may want to try asking on the BlackBerry Developer forum.

Currently I am using Eclipse 3.5 for BlackBerry development.

RamyaHi,

I have installed BB 4.6 plugin and by default only 8900 was added. Now I would want to test on 8350i or any 320*240 resolution device. Could u pls tell me how to go about adding this device?

Many thanks in advance
09/08/10 @ 23:37
Comment from: victor.ewert [Member] Email
victor.ewertYes, you are right, it seems like in the latest 4.6.1 (4.6.1.49) package, only the 8900 is available. I didn't realize that BlackBerry keeps changing the available simulators. You can try downloading the 4.5.0 (4.5.0.28) package. That should come with many Curve devices with a 320x240 resolutions. You can download from the BlackBerry update site in eclipse.

Another alternative is to download the simulator that you want directly, as a separate install (separate from eclipse). You can download from: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/developers/resources/simulators.jsp

LeonardoHi... I need the BB JRE 4.3.0 for Eclipse but it is no longer available at http://www.blackberry.com/go/eclipseUpdate/3.5/java. Do you know where can I get it?. I donwloaded JDE 4.3.0 from RIM and installed separately (outside Eclipse) but when I try to import it in Eclipse, it can't find the .ee definition file. Thanks for your blog

victor.ewertI can't seem to find 4.3 either. It seems like BlackBerry is pushing for having 4.5 being the minimum support OS.
